We went for a bit of a drive to a Buddhist shrine

and caught a view of the Tohoku school from a distance.

There was an access point to a set of wilderness trails just before the temple entrance.

    1. The shrine was very beautiful in a rustic, rooted and historic way. There was no one around and I got little spiritual sense from the place, but I would like to come back during a festival or ceremony to get a better sense of the religious practice that goes on here. It is very close to my house and I will be hiking the trails so maybe I will get to know the place in a different way eventually.
